"The path is the target"

I have painted live in nightclubs, music festivals and co-operated with a band who improvised and sang about the crocodile, while I painted. I do it because live painting is a multi-channel communication which explains the process of painting… my path, my philosophy. It demonstrates how I paint which gives the viewer a feeling for why I paint… that is…

  • Rhythmically creating each line introduces the link to music.
  • My concentration, repetition, precision explains the work's meditational qualities.
  • While painting I move my own muscles to experience the muscles of my subject which kinesthetically connects the visual lines, series and swirls to the viewers own body.
  • My body posture, relaxed and ready, poised and balanced, fit and tuned translates to a stalking lizard, flexed claw, knot of muscle, tensioned skeleton, rippling senses, swirl of lines, shimmer of movement…
  • The painstaking slowness of painting grabs respect for commitment and wonderment at the madness of my dedication.
  • The brush's movement, flexing, pressure and flow explain the infinite possibilities within one line; its birth, inflexion, fading, rejuvenation and death.
  • The morphological study, spontaneously growing, without prior sketches or guide-lines hints at the power of my conscious visualization interacting with the subconscious, bodily brush control.
  • Creating each line/letter, writing each series/word brings viewers one step closer to understanding the asemic text, its deep meaning, its religious worship of life.
