An overview of some of the most important terms and conditions

The aim of the terms and conditions are to be fair and to ensure the painting always stays in the best possible condition and (hopefully) increases in value.

  • To ensure the painting stays in the public eye and hopefully increases in value it needs to be exhibited. Consequently the buyer agrees to allow the painting to be exhibited for up to 60 days in a three year period. The artist will give 120 days notice regarding when he needs the painting and will cover all expenses related to the exhibition.
  • To ensure the artist has an interest in increasing the value of the painting and stays engaged in its future, the buyer agrees to pay 15% of any gross profit made if the painting is re-sold and 50% of any gross profit if the painting is rented. The artist agrees to support the buyer in re-selling and renting the painting. The scope of the co-operation is open to negotiation.
  • The artist reserves all rights to reproduce the painting.
  • To ensure the quality of the painting, the buyer agrees to contact the artist before any restoration.
  • If the painting is re-sold the original buyer agrees to ensure that the new buyer agrees to the terms and conditions.
